Pune: A dramatic and potentially disastrous incident occurred late Sunday night in the Hadapsar area of Pune, capturing the attention of social media users.

A video showing a four-wheeled vehicle belonging to the Pune Municipal Corporation’s road maintenance team speeding in reverse without a driver has gone viral, raising serious safety concerns.

The event took place on the Vaiduwadi flyover at around 11:45 PM. The vehicle, a tempo with "Pune Municipal Corporation" inscribed on it, was seen hurtling backward at high speed, without anyone in the driver’s seat.

The terrifying footage shows the empty vehicle creating a dangerous situation, which could have led to severe consequences.

Thankfully, due to the late hour, the roads were relatively empty, preventing what could have been a major tragedy. The tempo eventually came to a halt after crashing into a road divider, avoiding any significant damage or injury.

The exact cause of the vehicle's uncontrolled reverse movement in Hadapsar remains unknown.

In recent days, we have witnessed several horrific accidents not only in Pune but across the state.

An accident involving a container and a Swift car at Nagargaon Phata on the Shirur-Satara Highway resulted in the death of one person and serious injury to another. The collision occurred in front of Hotel Annapurna on Monday (August 5).

Many lives have been lost due to reckless driving. However, it appears that the drivers on the road have not learned any lessons from these incidents.
