Pune: The relentless heavy rainfall since Wednesday (July 24) has led to severe flooding on the roads in the Sus-Mahadevnagar area, cutting off communication for its residents. This situation has prompted citizens to call for immediate attention from the municipal administration.
The intense downpour that began last night has caused significant flooding on the roads in Mahadevnagar, isolating residents. The heavy rain in the Susgaon area has led to streams of water flowing on the roads, making them impassable.
Despite three years of continuous correspondence with the administration, the road in the Sus-Mahadevnagar area remains unconstructed.
A local citizen emphasized the need for the municipal administration to take this issue seriously and construct the road as soon as possible using all available resources.
He stated, "The residents of Mahadevnagar have been persistently requesting the administration to address this issue, but no action has been taken. The administration must now prioritize the construction of this road to ensure the safety and connectivity of the residents."
Meanwhile, local residents have demanded action on the dangerously dug-up road at Bhande Chowk (Sus Khind), where the service road to the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway begins.
This work has left the road in a hazardous state, causing significant inconvenience to many two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers, as well as local residents.
On Sunday, July 14, 2024, a car fell into the pit, resulting in major injuries to the driver and extensive damage to the vehicle. Numerous minor accidents have also occurred at this location over the past week.
