Hinjewadi IT Park Access Road: Severe Waterlogging, Slow Traffic Reported

Neelam Karale

Pune: The crucial Maan-Hinjewadi road connecting the IT Park has gone underwater. Heavy water accumulation at the Bodkewadi junction is causing significant troubles for motorists trying to navigate through it.

Continuous heavy rains for more than 24 hours have resulted in severe waterlogging in the Hinjewadi IT Park area, leading to significant traffic slowdowns.

The essential Maan-Hinjewadi road, which connects to the IT Park, is submerged. The submerged potholes on the road are making it particularly dangerous for motorcyclists, forcing them to navigate the route with extreme caution. Key areas such as Gavarewadi and Bodkewadi junction are heavily affected, causing severe traffic disruptions.

The roads in the IT Park were already in poor condition due to numerous potholes, and the continuous rainfall has worsened the situation, leading to long queues of vehicles.

The heavy rains in the Maan and Hinjewadi regions over the past 24 hours have caused several roads to go underwater, significantly slowing down traffic.

Meanwhile, over the past 24 hours, the Mulshi Dam area has experienced record-breaking rainfall, with Tamhini receiving 556 mm of rain. This extreme weather has caused trees to fall and roads to close in various locations. Efforts are underway to clear the road and resume traffic.

The heavy rainfall has led to multiple incidents of fallen trees and road closures. The landslide at Adarwadi at 2:30 AM saw a large section of the mountain collapse, causing rocks, mud, and debris to bury the road and the nearby 'Picnic Hotel.'
