Pune: Two young software engineers lost their lives after their motorcycle collided with a tree on the footpath in Hinjewadi.

The incident occurred near the Indian Thali Hotel when the motorcycle, heading from Hinjewadi Chowk towards Phase One Circle, veered off course and struck a tree on the footpath.

The deceased have been identified as Sourav Yadav, aged 27, a resident of Hinjewadi, and Anurag Pandey, aged 27, from Hyderabad.

Both were originally from Uttar Pradesh. Sourav was employed as a software engineer at a company in the Hinjewadi IT Park, while Anurag, also a software engineer, worked in Hyderabad.

Anurag had traveled to Pune to visit Sourav, and they were returning together when the fatal accident occurred.

The impact of the collision left both Sourav, who was riding the motorcycle, and Anurag, who was the pillion passenger, with severe injuries. Despite immediate efforts, both succumbed to their injuries on the spot.

A case has been registered at the Hinjewadi Police Station, and further investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.

Recently, in a severe road rage incident on the Alankapurm to Dehu Phata road, a minor altercation between a bullet rider and a car driver escalated, resulting in a devastating injury.

The pillion rider on the bullet lost his arm after it struck an iron electric pole while attempting to overtake the car at high speed. The accident occurred on Tuesday (October 8) evening around 7:30 PM, and the incident is now under investigation by the Dighi police.
