Pune: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inaugurated the first full-figure public sculpture of Lord Shri Ram at Shri Ram Chowk, Handewadi Road. The sculpture, constructed by Shiv Sena city chief Pramod Nana Bhangire at his own expense, stands as a symbol of devotion and faith.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Shinde highlighted the fulfillment of Balasaheb Thackeray's vision by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the construction of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

He also stated that Lord Shri Ram and Ayodhya are matters of our pride and faith. However, some people have turned this subject into a political issue, he said. Criticizing the opposition, he emphasized that it is now time to teach those people a fitting lesson.

He also acknowledged the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Emphasizing the importance of the upcoming Assembly elections, Shinde urged Shri Ram devotees not to be complacent, as the opposition might have no work left post-election.

Despite the heavy rains, the event saw a large turnout of Shri Ram devotees and notable dignitaries, including Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council Dr. Neelam Gorhe, MLA Chetan Tupe Patil, and former Minister of State Vijay Shivtare.

Chief Minister Shinde praised Pramod Nana Bhangire for his dedication, noting that though small in stature, Bhangire has consistently undertaken significant tasks, including leading volunteer efforts during Pune's floods.

The unveiling of the sculpture marks a moment of pride for the community, with Chief Minister Shinde expressing his deep satisfaction at being part of such a meaningful event.
