Pune: A resident of Triveninagar, Talegaon, has reported a case of fraud in which he was deceived into paying ₹1.6 lakh under the pretense of booking a honeymoon package to Vietnam.
Uday Baban Kandekar, the complainant, was approached through an Instagram group called "Paradise Holidays" by Ravindra Babaji Shendkar.
The package, advertised as a nine-day, eight-night stay in Vietnam, appeared legitimate, prompting Kandekar to transfer ₹1,60,733.
However, after making the payment, Kandekar received no confirmation or further contact from Shendkar, leading him to file a police report.
The accused, who has addresses in both Aundh, Pune, and Ahilyanagar, Parner, is now facing charges of fraud, and the matter is under police investigation.
Youth Assaulted and Robbed in Akurdi; Four Charged
Akurdi: A youth was severely beaten and robbed in Akurdi by four men following a prior dispute.
The incident took place near Jai Ganesh Vision, where Naushad Ekebula Shah was attacked by suspects Rihan Kadir Khan, Nisar Shah, and two other accomplices.
While Shah was drinking tea, the accused reportedly began verbally assaulting him, escalating the altercation by dragging him to a nearby open field in the parking area. There, Shah was assaulted with punches, kicks, and stones, resulting in serious head injuries.
The attackers then took Shah’s mobile phone and ₹2,000 in cash before fleeing the scene. Following the complaint, Akurdi police registered the case, and an investigation is ongoing.
