Hookah Parlor Raid on The Village Hotel on NIBM Road, Owner Among Five Charged

The accused, identified as Bakir Ramesh Bagwe, along with four associates, were found serving hookah to customers in violation of the law.

Pune: In a significant crackdown, Kondhwa police have charged five individuals, including the owner of The Village Hotel on NIBM Road, for illegally operating a hookah parlor within the premises.

The accused, identified as Bakir Ramesh Bagwe, along with four associates, were found serving hookah to customers in violation of the law.

According to the police, under the orders of Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar of Kondhwa Police Station, Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete and police officers were patrolling the area.

During this patrol, they received information that The Village Hotel on NIBM Road was secretly providing customers with illegal hookah services. Acting on this information, the police conducted a raid on Thursday night and found five individuals offering hookah to customers.

The accused have been identified as Bakir Ramesh Bagwe (aged 36, resident of Bhavani Peth, Lohiyanagar), Harun Nabi Sheikh (aged 20, resident of West Bengal), Bikram Sadhan Sheikh (aged 20), Amanat Anwar Mandal (aged 22), and Amanat Anwar.

The police seized hookah flavors, nine hookah pots, and other materials worth ₹23,500 from the premises.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police R. Raja, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashwini Rakh, and Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar.

The raid was carried out by Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete and police officers Akshay Shendge, Rahul Thorat, Suhas More, and Pradeep Bediskar.
