Pimpri: A disturbing incident occurred in Pimpri-Chinchwad where a man allegedly tried to kill his girlfriend and then took his own life at Hotel Raj Plaza in Kharalwadi on Thursday (October 10) afternoon.

The man, identified as Nitesh Naresh Minekar (34), a resident of Yerawada, was found dead by hanging. His 28-year-old girlfriend, who sustained severe injuries, was discovered in a pool of blood and is currently in critical condition at the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital.

The couple had arrived at the Raj Plaza lodge around 4 p.m. and booked a room. Shortly after, an argument broke out between them, which caught the attention of the hotel staff. Concerned about the escalating situation, the hotel manager contacted the police emergency helpline, 112.

Police officers arrived promptly and knocked on the door of the couple's room. Nitesh responded, saying he was getting dressed and would open the door shortly.

However, after waiting for an extended period without a response, the police were forced to break down the door. Inside, they discovered the woman with serious injuries, and Nitesh had hanged himself.

The police suspect that the incident was the result of a romantic dispute between the couple. Further investigations are underway to determine the exact sequence of events. The woman is receiving intensive care treatment, and her condition remains critical.
