Pune: The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), a leading global association for accountants and financial professionals, has joined forces with Symbiosis School of Arts and Commerce to introduce a new Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification program.

This strategic collaboration, established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is poised to offer commerce graduates enhanced career opportunities and bolster their professional competencies in management accounting on a global scale.

The partnership will see Symbiosis incorporate IMA’s professional certification into its curriculum, providing students with access to the highly regarded CMA program.

This certification focuses on key areas such as financial planning, performance management, analytics, and strategic financial management, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to excel in a variety of professional environments.

“In today’s rapidly changing global economy, it’s crucial that future professionals are equipped with comprehensive and adaptable skill sets,” said Michael DePrisco, President & CEO of IMA.

“Our collaboration with Symbiosis is a critical step in our mission to elevate the management accounting profession worldwide. By offering our certification to Symbiosis students, we are laying a strong foundation for their future success in an increasingly competitive job market.”

The CMA program will be seamlessly integrated into the existing academic structure at Symbiosis, enabling students to begin exploring relevant concepts from their first year.

Students will also have the opportunity to complete the CMA examination before graduation. To support this initiative, special discounts on membership, exam fees, training, and study materials will be available exclusively to Symbiosis students.

Additionally, IMA will collaborate with the college to host joint seminars, conferences, and research projects, further enriching the students' educational experience. Academic members of IMA will also gain access to a vast library of research reports, case studies, and online courses.

Dr. Hrishikesh Soman, Principal of Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, stated, “Symbiosis is proud to partner with IMA to offer the CMA certification to our students. This integrated program will not only help our students compete at a global level but also allow them to develop deep expertise in management accounting. We are excited about the future possibilities this collaboration holds.”

This partnership is expected to significantly enhance students' ability to compete internationally, develop strong technical management accounting skills, and unlock new avenues for professional growth and success.
