Pune: The Merged Artificer Apprentice Course (MAAC 38), consisting of 77 trainees from the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and friendly foreign navies, along with the Agniveer (ME) course, comprising 335 male and 55 female trainees, successfully concluded their professional training at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, on August 1, 2024.

This extensive training program, spanning several months, is meticulously designed to endow trainees with advanced technical knowledge and skills vital for their roles on ships.

The merged batch of Artificer Apprentices and Agniveers underwent rigorous training in a broad spectrum of subjects, including marine engineering, electrical systems, and information technology.

This comprehensive training ensures they are well-prepared to meet the demands of contemporary naval operations. The program not only focuses on technical proficiency but also emphasizes leadership, discipline, and the core values of the Indian Navy.

The training culmination was marked by a ceremonial Divisions, reviewed by Commodore Sameer Chaudhry, Commanding Officer of INS Shivaji.

In his address, Commodore Chaudhry underscored the significance of continuous learning and adaptation in the ever-evolving maritime domain, urging the trainees to uphold the three core tenets of Duty, Honour, and Courage. He also commended the training faculty for their dedicated efforts and professionalism in developing skilled marine engineers.

In the MAAC Course, Deep Kumar AG LME stood first in the Overall Order of Merit and was awarded the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (South) Gold Medal. Ganesh Mohan Sutar, LH, was recognized as the Best Sportsman of the course, receiving the Commodore's Rolling Trophy and Book Prize. Ackon Belmiro Smedo LS, from the Ghana Navy, was adjudged first in Order of Merit among the international trainees.

Among the Agniveers, Deepak, AVR(ME), stood first in the Overall Order of Merit (Men), while Geeta Joshi, AVR(ME), secured the first position in the Overall Order of Merit (Women). Both were awarded the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (South) Trophy.
