Pune: Ravi Karnani, an IT engineer residing in Susgaon, was attacked by around 40 people while traveling along the Lavale-Nande road on September 29.

Sharing his ordeal on the social media platform "X," Karnani posted a video and photos depicting the damage to his car and detailed the violent assault carried out by a mob armed with sticks, rods, and stones.

According to Karnani, the attack was carried out by a group of local thugs, and he suspects they frequently target cars, especially those without local number plates. He described how two motorcycles and a gang of people in a car chased him and his family at a speed of 80 km/h, trying to stop them forcibly.

Despite the situation, Karnani alleges that the local police, who were patrolling the area, appeared to support the attackers rather than intervene.

In his police complaint, Karnani explained that on September 29, he was traveling with his family in his Hyundai car along the Lavale-Nande road. A group of people tried to stop his vehicle forcibly.

When he did not comply, two individuals on a KTM bike attacked the car. Further along the road, more people joined the assault, causing significant damage to the vehicle. The mob used sticks, rods, and stones in the attack, creating a life-threatening situation for Karnani and his family.

Following the complaint, the Paud Police have registered a non-cognizable offense against unknown individuals and have started their investigation.
