Jain Political Forum Established to Boost Community's Political Engagement

Pune: In a bid to increase the Jain community’s influence and involvement in political affairs, a meeting was held at Mahavir Pratishthan in Pune by the Jain Youth Federation.

The gathering saw the establishment of the 'Jain Political Forum,' uniting representatives from all four sects of the Jain community. This initiative aims to encourage political representation from the community, recognizing that to expand their scope in social activities, having Jain representatives in politics is crucial.

The meeting witnessed attendance from several prominent figures within the Jain community and the political arena.

Among them were Achal Jain, coordinator of the Sakal Jain Sangh, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress General Secretary Abhay Chhajed, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party representative Balasaheb Oswal, BJP’s Pravin Chorbele, and social activist Dilip Mehta.

Other notable attendees included Haresh Shah, National President of Shri Murtipujak Youth Federation, as well as Satish Shah, Vilas Shah, Nitin Jain, Anil Gelda, Milind Phade, Nilesh Shah, Bharat Surana, Sandeep Bhandari, Jinendra Kavedia, Alpesh Gogri, Ajay Bafna, Mahendra Sundesha Mutha, Jaya Vora, Harshita Gandhi, and Dimple Oswal.

During the event, Achal Jain extended a warm welcome to the attendees and elaborated on the purpose and vision behind forming the forum. He emphasized that the community’s activists should step into politics to represent and serve the Jain community effectively.

The event’s proceedings were conducted by Samir Jain, Secretary of the Youth Federation, while Vilas Shah expressed gratitude in his closing remarks.

This newly established forum will focus on mobilizing Jain representation in political activities, ensuring that the community’s voice is adequately heard in policy-making and governance.

The forum’s founders emphasized that this step is vital for the Jain community to broaden its social and political reach and contribute more effectively to society’s overall welfare.
