Pune: In anticipation of heavy crowds for the Somvati Yatra of Shri Khandoba at Jejuri in Purandar taluka on September 2, the District Collector, Dr. Suhas Divase, has ordered changes to traffic arrangements to prevent congestion and maintain law and order in the area.

As per the new directives, the Pune-Jejuri-Baramati highway will be closed to heavy vehicles and other traffic from 5 a.m. to midnight on the day of the yatra. Alternate routes have been arranged to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

Revised Traffic Routes and Restrictions:

Jejuri Police Station Area: All heavy vehicles traveling from Satara, Phaltan, Lonand, and Baramati to Pune will be prohibited from using the direct route and will instead be diverted via the Nira-Morgaon-Supe-Kedgaon Chaufula route, which connects to the Solapur Highway heading toward Pune.

Jejuri-Belsar Phata Route: The route from Pune to Baramati will be completely closed to traffic. Vehicles will be rerouted via Belsar-Kothale-Nazare-Supe-Morgaon to reach Baramati, Phaltan, and Satara.

Supa Police Station Area: Traffic coming from Baramati and Nira to Pune via Jejuri will be redirected to the Solapur Highway using the Morgaon-Supe-Kedgaon Chaufula route.

Saswad Police Station Area: Heavy vehicles heading from Pune to Phaltan-Satara via Jejuri will not be allowed.

Instead, traffic will be diverted to either the Saswad-Narayanpur-Kapurhol route to Satara-Phaltan or the Saswad-Veer Phata-Parinche-Veer-Wathar Colony route to Lonand.

For devotees traveling to Jejuri for the Somvati Yatra, traffic restrictions will be relaxed, ensuring easier access for religious participants. Authorities have requested citizens to be aware of these changes and cooperate to ensure a smooth yatra experience.
