Pune: In a dramatic event last night, four thieves broke into the mechanical parking facility on Jangli Maharaj Road, leading to a chaotic scene as the police tried to apprehend them.

The incident began when three to four thieves infiltrated the mechanical parking area. As the police moved in to arrest them, the thieves climbed onto the building.

Despite the police summoning the fire brigade for assistance, the thieves managed to escape. The police even had to request the thieves to come down, but to no avail.

The incident attracted a large crowd of onlookers, witnessing the high-stakes chase. Unfortunately, the thieves successfully evaded capture, adding to the growing concerns about safety and security in Pune.

Over recent days, Pune has seen a spike in criminal activities, raising serious concerns about citizen safety. The activities of the notorious "Koyta Gang," a high-profile Porsche accident, and increasing crime rates indicate that the city is facing significant challenges.

Around 15 years ago, the Pune Municipal Corporation invested approximately 2 crore rupees to establish this mechanical parking facility opposite Sambhaji Park. Initially managed by a contractor, the facility was shut down due to insufficient revenue. Efforts to re-tender and re-operate the facility have so far been unsuccessful.
