Pune: The son of prominent real estate businessman Vishal Surendrakumar Agarwal, who was implicated in the Kalyani Nagar accident that claimed the lives of two software engineers, has been denied him admission by an educational institution in Delhi after learning about the criminal case against him.
Lawyers representing the boy revealed this shocking turn of events in court. According to them, the institute withdrew the boy's admission after finding out about the charges filed in connection to the Kalyani Nagar accident.
The lawyers took the matter to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), complaining about the negative impact this decision would have on the boy’s education.
Special public prosecutor Shishir Hiray expressed concern about the situation, stating that the boy's education should not be neglected despite the legal proceedings. However, the JJB refrained from issuing any orders or providing any instructions to the educational institution.
The case took another significant turn when Pune Police, on Thursday (September 26), submitted a detailed supplementary investigation report to the Juvenile Justice Board.
The report implicates the minor in a conspiracy to tamper with evidence, including switching blood samples. It accuses him and others of trying to destroy key evidence that linked him to the fatal crash.
This case stems from a tragic accident that occurred on May 19 in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune, where two young software engineers lost their lives after being struck by a luxury Porsche car driven by Agarwal’s son. The police promptly took the boy into custody, and his vehicle was seized.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Vishal Agarwal and his wife, Shivani, allegedly attempted to save their son from legal consequences by bribing two doctors— Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Halnor—at Sassoon Hospital.
It was suspected that the boy had consumed alcohol prior to the crash, leading the police to order a blood test. In an attempt to manipulate the results, Shivani allegedly provided her own blood sample in place of her son’s.
