Pune: The case involving a minor in the Kalyani Nagar accident, where the police have petitioned for the minor to be tried as an adult under criminal law, is set for its next hearing on November 18.
The court will also hear arguments on petitions related to the minor’s Porsche car and his passport on the same day. Initially, the hearing was scheduled for October 21 but was adjourned to a later date.
The minor involved in the accident has already been granted bail, while his parents and a doctor from Sassoon Hospital remain in judicial custody.
As the investigation progressed, authorities discovered the minor's involvement in additional criminal activities, leading to the addition of more sections to the charges filed against him. The new charges will be thoroughly investigated in the coming days.
In a related development, two members of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), who had granted bail to the minor just hours after the accident, have been dismissed from their roles.
The state government issued a notification announcing their removal, citing misuse of authority as the reason. A committee was appointed to review the JJB’s decision to grant bail, and it found multiple errors in their judgment.
The committee's findings led to a show-cause notice being served to the JJB members, asking for an explanation. Following their response, the commissioner sent a report, including the members' justification, to the state government for further action.
