Khadakwasla Dam Water Discharge at 55000 Cusecs, Riverbank areas under water

Pune: The Khadakwasla dam is currently discharging 55,000 cusecs of water into the Mutha River due to heavy rainfall.

The dam area has recorded an average rainfall of 100 mm, while the surrounding hilly regions have seen over 200 mm of rainfall. The water discharge may be adjusted based on further rainfall.

Citizens are advised to exercise caution in the areas like Sinhagad Road riverside area, Bhide Bridge, which is currently submerged, Khillare Vasti College area in Garware College, Shitala Devi Temple at Deccan, Sangam Bridge vicinity, Tilak Bridge near the Pune Municipal Corporation, and Holkar Bridge.

Executive Engineer of the Khadakwasla Irrigation Department has issued a warning. Additionally, the District Collector has ordered the closure of all schools and colleges in Pune city and Pune district today due to the heavy rainfall.
