Khadki: Scrap Collector Assaulted and Robbed by Notorious Criminal

The victim, identified as Anwar Shah Habib (34), filed a complaint at the Khadki Police Station.

Pune: In Khadki, a scrap collector was threatened, robbed, and injured by a gangster in a recent case of extortion.

The incident occurred on October 17 near the Rajiv Gandhi slum area, alongside the railway tracks, around 11:30 a.m. The victim, identified as Anwar Shah Habib (34), filed a complaint at the Khadki Police Station.

According to the complaint, Anwar Shah was collecting scrap in the area when Adnan Qureshi, a known criminal, confronted him. Qureshi grabbed his collar and verbally abused him, stating that if he wished to collect scrap in the area, he would need to pay.

Qureshi then brandished a knife, threatening the victim and forcibly taking INR 1,500 from his pocket. When Anwar Shah resisted, Qureshi assaulted him with a wooden stick, striking the side of his ear and causing injury.

The Khadki Police have registered a case of extortion against Adnan Qureshi, who has a record of multiple serious crimes, including attempted murder, theft, and other offenses under the Arms Act and POSCO. Police Sub-Inspector Gunjal is currently leading the investigation into the matter.

Young Man Assaulted for Associating with Rivals

A young man was brutally beaten with bamboo sticks, punches, and kicks by a group of assailants in Ramnagar, Warje Malwadi, on October 15. The attackers accused him of mingling with their opponents and threatened him with further violence if they saw him again.

The victim, Milind Lahu Dahire (34), lodged a complaint at the Warje Malwadi Police Station. Based on his account, the police have registered a case against four individuals: Alpesh alias Sonya Waghmare (29), Gaurav Shelke (24), Anil Kamble (24), and Atisha Daware (25), all residents of Ramnagar, Warje.
