Pune: A group of 20 to 25 individuals has been booked by the Kondhwa Police after OBC movement leader Laxman Hake filed a complaint stating that he was verbally abused, physically harassed, and threatened by the group.

The incident allegedly occurred on Monday (September 30) night when Hake was accused of consuming alcohol and was surrounded by supporters of Maratha leader Manoj Jarange-Patil in the Kondhwa area.

According to the complaint, the confrontation took place near the State Bank of India branch on the Katraj-Kondhwa road. The group allegedly accused Hake of disrespecting Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje of Kolhapur.

They verbally assaulted him and threatened to "deal with him" for his remarks. A scuffle broke out during the altercation, resulting in an injury to Hake’s shoulder.

The complaint names an individual identified as Mate, along with 20 to 25 others, as responsible for the incident. Hake, who resides in Nirman Classic Society in Katraj, originally hails from Solapur.

He reported the incident to the Kondhwa Police Station, leading to the registration of the case on Tuesday (October 1) night.

The police are currently investigating the matter, and the involvement of the accused is being verified. Meanwhile, members of the Sakal OBC and Dhangar communities, demanded swift action against those involved in a defamatory campaign targeting OBC leader Laxman Hake.

The OBC community has condemned the deliberate actions of certain individuals from the Maratha Kranti Morcha, who allegedly conspired to malign Hake’s reputation.
