Pune: A liquor store in the Kondhwa area was targeted, where cash and alcohol worth ₹40,920 were stolen. The shop owner, Shubham Annasaheb Tapkir, lodged a complaint at the Kondhwa police station following the robbery.

According to Tapkir, the thieves struck at his Rajji Bar and Restaurant late at night, breaking the shop’s lock and stealing cash from the register, along with several liquor bottles.

Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar immediately visited the site of the crime, and Police Sub-Inspector Shabana Shaikh has been assigned to lead the investigation.

This incident follows a recent trend of thefts in Pune, where criminals have been targeting shops by breaking their locks. Fifteen days ago, a similar incident occurred at a sweet shop on Golf Club Road in Yerawada, where the thieves took cash and 2.5 kg of mango barfi.

Shortly after, a dry fruit store in Warje was broken into, with thieves making off with packets of dry fruits and cash.

Thug Smash Vehicle Windows in Yerawada

Pune: A thug tried to spread fear and panic in the Ramnagar area of Yerawada by loudly shouting and smashing the windows of several parked vehicles on Monday (October 7) evening.

The man, identified as Sagar Santosh Mane, reportedly used a machete to damage multiple vehicles and threatened locals who confronted him. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in a lane near St. Mary's Church in Ramnagar.

According to the complaint filed by Omkar Suresh Mhamunkar at the Yerawada police station, Mane, who has a criminal background, attacked Mhamunkar’s Tata Tempo, shattering its windows. He also vandalized the windows of a tempo belonging to Ranjana Navale and a school van (Omni) owned by Iqbal Syed.

When Ranjana Navale questioned Mane about why he was damaging their vehicles, he responded aggressively, shouting and warning her not to interfere.

Mane then waved his machete in the air and issued threats, saying he would not hesitate to kill anyone who stood in his way or reported him to the police. Assistant Police Inspector Mithun Sawant is currently investigating the matter.
