Koregaon Park: Elderly Man Sustains Nasal Fracture After Clash Over Feeding Stray Dogs

Pune: An altercation over giving way while feeding stray dogs in Koregaon Park resulted in one man sustaining a nasal fracture. The incident led to the filing of counter complaints.

According to his complaint, the police have registered a case against Srikanth Gaikwad, a four-wheeler driver. The incident took place around 8 to 8:30 AM on Monday near the gate of Maurya Society, Koregaon Park.

According to the police, the complainant was feeding stray dogs on the road when Gaikwad arrived in his four-wheeler. Gaikwad allegedly verbally abused Virem and then punched him in the nose, causing a nasal fracture.

Virem also sustained injuries below his eye, on his head, and forehead. Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Bhujbal is investigating the case.

In a counter-complaint, Srikanth Pandurang Gaikwad (40, resident of Gaikwad Alley, Mundhwa) reported to Koregaon Park police station that while he was driving through Koregaon Park, Simon and two others obstructed his way and started an argument.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation, with Virem and his companions allegedly hitting Gaikwad with fists and kicking him. Gaikwad also reported injuries to his eye, head, and hand after being struck with a branch from a nearby tree. Police constable Kamble is investigating this complaint.

Recently, an attempt to forcibly and illegally seize land, had resulted in an assault on the landowner. The incident had occurred at plot number 405, Lane No. 7, Koregaon Park, on July 3 at around 9:30 PM. Koregaon Park police had registered a case against eight individuals, including two women, in connection with the incident.
