Kothrud Marathon Marks Independence Day with Health-Focused Community Event

In Wagholi, G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management also celebrated the 78th Indian Independence Day with great enthusiasm.

Pune: The Amol Balwadkar Foundation organized a marathon in Kothrud, attracting thousands of participants from the constituency and across Pune on the occasion of Independence Day.

The "Amol Balwadkar Independence Day Run 2.0" was organized at Pandit Farm in Kothrud on August 15 by the Amol Balwadkar Foundation in collaboration with Atenex Fitness for the residents of the Kothrud constituency.

The event witnessed thousands of participants from Kothrud and Pune, who joined in the marathon with great enthusiasm. The marathon featured 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km race categories.

Notably, the "Walkathon" organized for senior citizens also received an enthusiastic response. The elderly participants responded overwhelmingly to the event, actively taking part in the competition. All participants were honored with medals, and various prizes were awarded to the winners.

Amol Balwadkar, Former Corporator and Founder of Amol Balwadkar Foundation stated, "The primary goal of the "Amol Balwadkar Independence Day Run" was to bring citizens together, encourage interaction among them, and promote their health.

The event received a tremendous response from Kothrud residents, with particularly notable participation from the youth. The support from the community is indeed commendable, and we will continue to prioritize such constructive initiatives in the future."

In Wagholi, G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management also celebrated the 78th Indian Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The national flag was ceremonially hoisted by former students and esteemed guests, Rishi Agarwal and Neeraj Lunawat, during a special event.

The celebration witnessed the presence of prominent figures including Dr. Harishchandra Kulkarni, Director of G.H. Raisoni Arts, Commerce, and Science College; Dr. Vaibhav Hendra, Assistant Director of G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management;

Dr. Nagnath Hulle; Dean Dr. N.Y. Korde; and Dr. Praveen Jangde, along with faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students who gathered for the occasion.
