Land Survey Completed for Ganeshkhind Road Widening; Project to Gain Momentum

Pune: The land measurement for the widening of Ganeshkhind Road, one of Pune’s most congested roads, has been completed, marking a key milestone in the project.

The municipal corporation, in coordination with the land records department, has surveyed a total of 52 properties to move forward with the road-widening plan.

The Ganeshkhind Road, which serves as a major artery connecting important areas such as Shivajinagar and Pune University, has been plagued by severe traffic congestion.

In response, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been working on several initiatives, including a dual flyover and metro project at Acharya Anandrishi Maharaj Chowk, in front of Savitribai Phule Pune University, as part of its strategy to ease the traffic bottlenecks.

In addition to these projects, the road-widening initiative on Ganeshkhind Road is aimed at further improving traffic flow.

The widening work has already been completed from Dhotre Path to the MSEDCL office and from the National Informatics Centre to the Agricultural College Reserve Bank. However, technical issues had delayed the next phase of work.

Recently, a joint effort by PMC’s road department, property department, and the Haveli land records department has resulted in the completion of the land survey.

This survey covered 27 properties between Sancheti Hospital and Anandamayi Ashram, and 25 properties from the College of Engineering to the MSEDCL office.

The land records department will soon submit a detailed land measurement report to the municipal corporation. With this report, the road-widening project is expected to progress more rapidly, with plans to extend the widening up to Sancheti Hospital.

"Thanks to the joint efforts of the road, property, and land records departments, we have successfully completed the necessary land measurements for the widening of Ganeshkhind Road. We will soon receive the detailed report," said Mahesh Patil, Deputy Commissioner of the Property Department, PMC.

"The measurement of properties on both sides of the Ganeshkhind Road has been completed, and the report will be submitted shortly," added Ganesh Karad, City Survey Officer of the Land Records Department.
