Pune: A case of fraud involving an ancestral property has been reported in Chakan, where a man allegedly replaced his brother with an imposter during the execution of a sale deed.

The Chakan police have filed charges against six individuals, including a lawyer, for their involvement in this fraudulent activity.

The complainant, 60-year-old Ananda Damu Bhosale, a resident of Padali in Khed taluka, lodged a complaint at the Chakan Police Station.

In his complaint, Bhosale detailed how his brother, Govinda alias Ramu Damu Bhosale, conspired to sell a portion of their jointly inherited land by presenting an imposter in place of Ananda during the sale deed process.

The fraudulent transaction involved 41 acres of land, which Ramu Bhosale was attempting to sell.

According to the complaint, the other accused in the case include Dhiraj Kumar Surendra Shethiya, the buyer; witnesses Sunil Ganpat Walunj and Deepak Kondibhau Pable; an unidentified individual who posed as Ananda Bhosale; and Advocate Ravindra Karnawat. The incident occurred at the sub-registrar’s office in Chakan on December 17, 2021.

The land in question is part of the brothers' ancestral property in Padali. To complete the sale legally, the signatures and thumb impressions of all rightful heirs, including Ananda Bhosale, were required.

However, during the legal process at the Chakan sub-registrar’s office, a fraudulent scheme unfolded. An imposter was brought in place of Ananda Bhosale, and forged signatures and thumbprints were used on the sale deed to falsely complete the transaction.

The fraud came to light when the fake deed was later used in an attempt to transfer ownership of the property. Upon discovering the deceit, Ananda Bhosale promptly filed a complaint with the Chakan police.

Police Sub-Inspector Talwade is leading the investigation, and charges have been filed against all six accused individuals.
