Machete-Wielding Gang Wreaks Havoc in Wanawadi, Nine Vehicles Vandalized

The complainant, Mayur Uttam Gaikwad, reported that the gang entered the locality around 2:00 AM, armed with machetes and wooden sticks.

Pune: A gang of armed individuals created terror in Bhairobanala area during the early hours of Thursday (November 22), vandalizing nine vehicles and threatening residents with machetes and sticks.

Wanawadi police have registered a case against four individuals in connection with the incident.

The complainant, Mayur Uttam Gaikwad, a resident of Chimta Vasthi, reported that the gang entered the locality around 2:00 AM, armed with machetes and wooden sticks.

They smashed the windows of vehicles, including a car (MH 12 WX 3305), two autorickshaws (MH 12 SK 9736, MH 12 VW 0720), a Ford car (MH 12 DS 3485), a Jets car (MH 12 DY 0420), a tempo (MH 12 KP 8028), and a scooter (MH 12 NG 6137).

Residents Threatened

When residents, including Nagnath Gandhale, Ashok Kashikar, Mayur Gaikwad, and others, confronted the gang, they were threatened with death. Brandishing weapons, the gang declared their control over the area and warned anyone against interfering.

Further Damage and Escape

The gang then fled towards the nearby canal, vandalizing more vehicles parked in the area.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Kumbhar is leading the investigation. Meanwhile, in a related incident in Ghorpadi, the same gang reportedly attacked three individuals with machetes, leaving them seriously injured. The Crime Investigation Department has arrested three suspects, while one remains at large.
