Traffic police chase bike rider to return his wallet fallen on road

Pune: Traffic police chased a bike rider to his village Malegaon in Khed tehsil, not for issuing a challan to him, but to return his wallet which fell down on the highway while the bike driver passed through a help centre on the Pune-Nashik highway.

While speeding cases were being registered on the Pune-Nashik highway in Khed tehsil area, some traffic police personnel noticed that the wallet of a person riding a two-wheeler had fallen on the road from the vehicle. The traffic police chased the two-wheeler and called him back and handed him his wallet.

Sanjay Sutnase, Sub Inspector of Police, Ale Phata Highway Help Centre and his associate Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Dnyaneshwar Ghanwat, Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Gulab Hinge, Constable Shankar Kondhare, Driver Santosh Pathare were engaged at Malegaon in Khed tehsil in their work on Pune-Nashik highway.

At the same time, Dadasaheb Jadhav was riding a two-wheeler (MH42 4138) heading towards Pune from Narayangaon. While taking action against overspeeding vehicles, police constable Shankar Kondhre noticed that a wallet of money had fallen on the road from the bike.

Police seized the wallet, but by then Dadasaheb Jadhav had gone ahead. Sub Inspector of Police Sanjay Sutnase sent Police Constable Shankar Kondhre on his trail, stopped him and called him back and handed over the wallet to him.

The wallet contained Rs 11,000 in cash as well as important items like Aadhar card and PAN card. Dadasaheb Jadhav was walking towards the village with his wife and child at Bawada in Indapur taluka. At that time, he had given his wallet to the boy. Unbeknownst to the boy, the wallet fell on the road. Jadhav had no idea that the wallet had fallen, but unexpectedly, he was very happy to get it back from the police. He thanked all the police.
