Pune: A 19-year-old youth was seriously injured after being attacked with a stone when he tried to stop a boy from hitting a dog. The incident took place at Vinayak Hotel Chowk in Taljai Mata Vasahat on the afternoon of August 29.

The injured youth, Atharva Shivraj Lokhande, was assaulted by Datta Adagale after he advised Adagale's younger brother not to throw stones at a dog.

Enraged by this, Datta confronted Lokhande, verbally abused him, and then escalated the situation by attacking him with a stone. Lokhande sustained severe head injuries from the assault.

A complaint has been filed at the Sahakarnagar Police Station, and a case has been registered against Datta Adagale. The police are currently investigating the incident, with Constable Santosh Joshi leading the inquiry.

Chikhli Woman Loses ₹25 Lakh in Construction Investment Scam

A 38-year-old businesswoman from Nevalewasti, Chikhli, has fallen victim to a financial scam involving a fake investment scheme.

The woman reported the fraud to the Chikhli police station, alleging that Vaibhav Sunil Deshpande, aged 28 and residing in Sukhwani Coloronic Society, Ravet, tricked her into investing in a non-existent construction company promising a 29% return.

Deshpande initially convinced the complainant to invest ₹1,25,000, promising a return of ₹1,61,250 within a month. After gaining her trust, he persuaded her to transfer an additional ₹25,80,000 to various bank accounts.

Instead of investing the funds, Deshpande misappropriated the money for personal use. When the complainant sought the return of her investment, Deshpande provided fake bank transaction documents, resulting in a total loss of ₹25,80,000 for her.
