Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has constructed temporary ponds along the riverbanks to carry out the immersion ceremonies. This initiative, now a regular feature, seeks to prevent pollution of natural water bodies during the festival’s peak immersion phase.

According to Sandeep Kadam, Deputy Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, "All necessary preparations for the immersions have been completed. The PMC has ensured that all prominent mandals have been briefed, and the immersion process will be conducted seamlessly."

This year’s immersion site will feature decorative arrangements, including traditional rangoli designs and floral adornments, creating an appealing setting for the final rituals.

Security measures have also been reinforced, with the deployment of police forces at all major immersion sites. In addition to the police, municipal staff will be present throughout the immersion process to ensure smooth proceedings.

In addition to the prominent Ganapatis, numerous other smaller mandals are also following suit, contributing to the city’s growing culture of eco-friendly practices.

The entire event is expected to draw thousands of devotees, all of whom will witness the grand farewell amidst the vibrant festivities, emotional farewells, and prayers for prosperity.

The PMC has called upon citizens to participate responsibly and ensure a safe and eco-conscious celebration.

While the festival’s essence of devotion and celebration remains intact, the environmental message is resonating louder with each passing year, making this year’s immersion ceremony a vital part of the city's green initiatives.
