Pune: Manoj Jarange Patil, known for spearheading the Maratha reservation movement, is set to lead a massive peace rally in Pune. Scheduled for August 11, the rally is expected to see over 250,000 Marathas from Pune city and district.

The rally is organized by the Akhand Maratha Samaj Pune District. A significant meeting was held at Chandni Chowk on July 7, where it was decided that Jarange Patil would lead an awareness campaign about Maratha reservation.

The details of the peace rally were finalized in a meeting between Maratha leaders and the Police Commissioner.

Rally Route and Schedule:

The rally will commence at 11 AM from the Ganpati Temple in Sarasbaug. It will proceed via Bajirao Road and Appa Balwant Chowk, reaching the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Military School. Here, Jarange Patil will pay tribute to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The rally will then move towards Deccan via Jangli Maharaj Road, where a tribute will be paid to the statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, followed by a speech by Jarange Patil at Tilak Chowk (Alka Talkies Chowk).

To accommodate the large number of participants, parking arrangements have been made at the riverfront area and in the grounds of nearby schools and colleges. The organizers have called on the Maratha community to participate in the rally with their families.

Participation Guidelines:

The organizers have emphasized that current and former municipal councilors, MLAs, MPs, and leaders from various political parties are welcome to join the rally, but only as Maratha supporters.

They have requested participants to leave their political affiliations, symbols, and positions aside and join the rally as common Maratha supporters.
