Pune: In a remarkable achievement, students from the rural village of Markal have excelled in the recent competitive exams conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.

Shubham Godse has been selected as a Police Sub-Inspector, while Snehal Lokhande has secured a position in the Water Resources Department through the state government's direct service examination.

Both students belong to farming families, and their success has brought immense joy to their village.

Shubham Godse, whose parents are small-scale farmers, completed his early education in Markal. After earning an engineering degree and working in a company, he diligently prepared for the competitive exams.

Despite facing a physical injury that hindered his selection in 2023, Shubham's perseverance paid off in 2024 when he was successfully chosen as a Police Sub-Inspector. His family and the entire village celebrated his success with great enthusiasm.

Similarly, Snehal Lokhande from Markal excelled in the state government direct service examination. Despite their modest financial situation, her family received support from the state government's Sarathi scholarship program.

Snehal pursued her education with the help of this scholarship, staying in a hostel in Pune and preparing for the direct service exam. She completed her primary education at the new secondary school in Markal, followed by her 12th grade in Wagholi, and a BSc degree from SP College in Pune.

After graduation, she focused on preparing for the direct service exam. Initially, she was not selected in 2021, but she succeeded in 2023, earning a position in the Water Resources Department as a Measurer.

Snehal expressed joy over her success and gratitude for the Sarathi scholarship program, which provided essential financial support and enabled her to achieve her goals.
