Pune: A major accident was averted on Sunday (October 6) evening when a large crane unexpectedly collapsed at a construction site near Godrej Society on Maan Road in Hinjewadi .

The incident took place around 8 PM when the crane came crashing down on a small company's workshop and a construction site. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident, as confirmed by the Hinjewadi Police.

The crane had been stationed for construction work in the area. According to eyewitnesses from nearby residential societies, the collapse was accompanied by a deafening noise, causing panic among locals.

"We heard a loud crash and rushed to see what had happened. It was a huge crane that fell onto the construction site and the workshop," said a resident of a nearby housing complex.

The collapse occurred between the rear side of Elpro School and the Godrej Society across the road. The crane fell towards the society from the school's side, but fortunately, the school was closed at the time, and there were no vehicles or pedestrians in the immediate area. As a result, a major disaster was averted.
