Pune: The elusive medical examination documents of IAS officer Puja Khedkar, who has been at the center of a controversy, have been discovered at the Ahmednagar District Government Hospital.
These documents will be presented in an upcoming meeting at the District Collector's office, which will include the District Surgeon, the District Collector, and the Superintendent of Police, according to District Surgeon Sanjay Ghogare.
Khedkar had previously obtained certificates from the Ahmednagar District Government Hospital that declared her both physically disabled and mentally ill.
Specifically, she was issued a visual disability certificate in 2018 and a certificate for mental illness in 2021. It has emerged that Khedkar submitted false documents, including a non-creamy layer certificate, to secure admission to medical college.
In 2007, she gained entry into Kashibai Navale Medical College in Pune for an MBBS course under the NT-3 (Nomadic Tribes) quota, which is designated for certain communities.
The non-creamy layer certificate is reserved for families with an annual income below 8 lakhs. However, evidence suggests that Khedkar used this certificate improperly for her medical admission.
Further scrutiny reveals that at the time of her medical college admission, Khedkar submitted a fitness certificate asserting she had no disabilities, indicating she was in good health during her college entry. This discrepancy has come to light and could further complicate her situation.
Protests Erupt Against Puja Khedkar and Family in Pune
Puja Khedkar, currently an IAS trainee, and her family have been the target of a "begging protest" organized by farmers from the Panshet area and vigilant Pune citizens.
The protest responds to allegations that Khedkar's family threatened people with a gun. Protesters are demanding a thorough investigation into the accusations against the Khedkar family.
