Minor Boy Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault on Toddler in Pune

The girl's cries alerted her mother, who rushed to the accused's house but found the door locked. The accused allegedly escaped after threatening the mother.

Pune: A disturbing incident of alleged sexual assault on a two-year-old girl by a minor boy has been reported in Bhor taluka. The accused, also a minor, has been taken into custody and booked under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita.

According to police officials, the incident occurred on September 17, around 8 am, in a village along the Pune-Satara highway. The victim's mother was washing clothes when the accused allegedly lured the child to his house and committed the crime.

The girl's cries alerted her mother, who rushed to the accused's house but found the door locked. The accused allegedly escaped after threatening the mother. Police arrested the accused with the help of local residents.

"We have registered a case under relevant sections and are investigating the matter," said Police Inspector Rajesh Gavali. "The accused is currently in custody, and further action will be taken based on the investigation's findings."

The victim is undergoing medical treatment at a local hospital. Police officials have assured that all necessary support and counseling will be provided to the family.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Tanaji Barde visited the scene and instructed officials to conduct a thorough investigation. Woman Police Constable Vrushali Desai is investigating the case under Inspector Gavali's supervision.
