Pune: A sudden disruption in the MNGL gas supply caused significant inconvenience to residents in Kothrud. On the first day of Shravan Monday, many families had prepared for their meal and offerings, only to find themselves without gas for cooking.
Calls to the customer complaint center went unanswered, exacerbating the situation.
The gas supply in areas such as Shilpa Society, Girija Society, Sufal Society, Sneh Paradise, Rambaug Colony, and Leela Park Society was cut off for over three hours in the evening.
Dilip Kande, a resident with diabetes, expressed his frustration, stating that he must follow strict meal timings, and the disruption created significant problems for him and others.
He emphasized the need for a system to notify customers immediately about supply disruptions, just as they are informed about bill payments.
Avinash Gavande from Sufal Society also shared his frustrations, explaining that numerous attempts to contact the customer grievance center were unsuccessful, leaving residents in the dark about when the supply would be restored.
He suggested implementing an immediate messaging system to allow residents to make alternative arrangements.
Some residents were informed by the customer complaint center that the disruption was due to a leak caused by NCL work and were assured that the issue would be resolved within an hour and a half.
