Pune: As political activities intensify ahead of the state assembly elections, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) faces internal dissent.

Ranjit Shirole, the state general secretary of MNS, has resigned from his position and party membership. His departure comes amidst growing dissatisfaction as political parties finalize their candidate lists.

Shirole, who has been with MNS since its inception, announced his decision to step down, stating that he had fulfilled all responsibilities entrusted to him and worked extensively in the Shivajinagar constituency.

However, he has not yet decided whether he will contest in the upcoming elections. "I have been with MNS since the beginning and have carried out the tasks assigned to me. I haven’t made a decision on contesting the elections yet," Shirole explained.

While Shirole clarified that his resignation was not driven by dissatisfaction or conflict within the party, his next political move remains uncertain.

He confirmed that he had collected an election form, indicating the possibility of contesting, but denied having received offers from other political parties.

"I am not upset, and there is no conflict. It’s not that MNS won’t contest in Shivajinagar, but I will not speak further about the party," Shirole added.

Shirole’s departure comes at a critical time for MNS, which is already dealing with challenges as it prepares for the upcoming elections.

MNS has fielded Mayuresh Wanjale from Khadakwasla constituency, Kishor Shinde from Kothrud and Sainath Babar from Hadapsar assembly constituencies.
