Pune: In an unexpected and heartwarming reunion, Member of Parliament (MP) Murlidhar Mohol recently encountered his childhood friend, Shahaji Patil, now serving as a traffic police officer, during a routine return from an official event in Kolhapur.

The spontaneous and emotional meeting has garnered significant attention, with the video of the incident going viral on social media.

Murlidhar Mohol had just concluded a political event in Chandgad (Kolhapur District), organized in Shivaji Patil's constituency. As he was heading back from the event with a convoy of security personnel, something remarkable occurred.

Among the officers providing protection and managing traffic, Mohol recognized one face that stood out—it was his old friend Shahaji Patil, whom he had known since their Talim (training) days in Kolhapur.

Without hesitation, Mohol instructed his driver to stop the vehicle. In a rare gesture, especially for someone in a political position, Mohol stepped out of his car, bypassing formalities and protocols, and approached the traffic officer. The two friends embraced warmly on the road, much to the amazement of onlookers and the police officers present at the scene.

Shahaji Patil, standing in his uniform, had been prepared to salute the MP, but instead, he was met with a warm hug—a gesture that brought back memories of their shared history.

The video of the touching interaction quickly spread across social media platforms, with many people praising the display of humility and the value of enduring friendships.

The two friends, after sharing a few laughs and memories, posed for pictures before bidding each other farewell, resuming their respective duties.
