Pune: Although the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced the postponement of the State Service Combined Preliminary Examination 2024, which was originally scheduled for Sunday (August 25), 2024, competitive exam aspirant students in Pune have continued with their protests over another demand of including the Agricultural Services Exam for 258 posts in Agricultural department.
The students have made it clear that they will not call off their protests until their demands are met.
Pending Demands
258 agricultural posts should be included in the scheduled Maharashtra Civil Service Examination 2024
The Maharashtra Civil Service Examination 2024 will be the last exam with the Objective Pattern, so the number of posts filled through this exam should be at least 1500+, including all important posts in 35 categories such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tehsildar, Nayab Tehsildar, and CO.
The advertisement for 15,000+ posts for Combined Non-Gazetted Group B and Group C 2024 should be released immediately, including important posts such as PSI: 1000+, STI: 500+, ASO: 500+, SR: 200+.
MPSC has announced that the new date for the State Service Combined Preliminary Examination will be announced soon.
The issue has garnered attention at the highest levels, with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis intervening and urging the MPSC President to address the students' concerns.
Fadnavis emphasized the importance of resolving the situation, pointing out that both the IBPS exam and the MPSC State Service Combined Preliminary Exam were scheduled on the same day, August 25, which could cause difficulties for students.
However, the indecision regarding inclusion of Agriculture Department posts has only added to the discontent.
