Pune: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has launched a campaign to disconnect the power supply of defaulters across Western Maharashtra.

The campaign targets domestic, commercial, and industrial (RCI) consumers who collectively owe a staggering ₹484.20 crore.

Disconnection Campaign Details

Under this campaign, MSEDCL is disconnecting power supply strictly according to regulations, without considering the amount of outstanding dues. To reconnect the power supply, consumers must pay their dues along with the prescribed reconnection fees and GST. The

Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission has set the reconnection fees, which are as follows:

  • For single-phase in the low-tension category: ₹210

  • For three-phase in the low-tension category: ₹420

  • For overhead and underground connections: ₹310 for single-phase and ₹520 for three-phase

  • For high-tension category: ₹3150

An 18 per cent GST is applicable on all these fees. MSEDCL has clarified that the power supply will only be restored after the outstanding dues, reconnection fees, and GST are fully paid.

How to Pay Bills

To avoid disconnection, Regional Director Ankush Nale has urged consumers to promptly clear their outstanding electricity bills. Consumers can pay their current and overdue bills online through the MSEDCL website or via the MSEDCL mobile app. Additionally, low-tension consumers with bills exceeding ₹5,000 have the option to pay via RTGS or NEFT.

With 20,35,944 defaulters across Western Maharashtra, this strict enforcement is aimed at recovering the significant dues and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to compliant consumers.
