Pune: Bhujang Khandare, the Regional Director of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL/Mahavitaran) in Pune, has emphasized that ensuring a consistent and uninterrupted power supply is the company's top priority.

He directed that any technical modifications or alternative arrangements needed to strengthen the electrical system in areas experiencing frequent power issues should be proposed and implemented immediately. Khandare made it clear that repeated power outages will not be tolerated.

In a meeting held at 'Prakash Bhavan' in Pune on Thursday (29th), Khandare reviewed the power supply, electrical infrastructure, and electricity bill collection processes for the Pune division.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar and General Manager (Finance and Accounts) Madhuri Raut.

Khandare highlighted the need for technical upgrades to the existing power infrastructure to ensure a smooth power supply. He also stressed the urgency of submitting proposals for new power lines to prevent overloading the current system, especially given the rapid urbanization in and around Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

The development of new substations and electrical systems near these urban areas was suggested as a solution.

Additionally, Khandare emphasized that Mahavitaran's financial stability relies on the efficient collection of electricity bills. He directed the officials to ensure 100% collection of current bills each month and to make special efforts to recover outstanding bills.

The meeting was attended by various executive engineers, subdivision heads, and other key personnel from the Pune division.
