Pune: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has set up a temporary control room near the Modi Ganpati area to monitor and manage power-related concerns along the Ganpati immersion routes, particularly on Laxmi Road and Tilak Road.

Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar emphasized that special teams of engineers and technical staff will be stationed at this control room to provide immediate support in case of any power disruptions.

With the city of Pune in the midst of Ganeshotsav celebrations, the streets are teeming with devotees eager to witness the elaborate displays and lighting setups created by the various Ganesh mandals.

To ensure that the grand festival runs smoothly, particularly during the Ganpati immersion processions, MSEDCL has put in place comprehensive measures to guarantee both a continuous power supply and public safety.

As part of these preparations, MSEDCL Pune division has deployed a task force of approximately 4,575 engineers, technical staff, and contractor workers across key areas including Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Mulshi, Velhe, Haveli, Ambegaon, Junnar, Khed, and Maval.

These personnel are equipped with necessary tools and materials to handle any power-related issues that may arise during the festive period. Their primary objective is to ensure that power outages are minimized and any technical problems are resolved promptly, ensuring a hassle-free celebration for all.

MSEDCL has issued an advisory to both citizens and Ganesh mandal workers to ensure public safety during the processions. Devotees have been urged to maintain a safe distance from electrical installations and equipment, and parents are encouraged to keep children away from feeder pillars and other electrical structures.

Moreover, people participating in processions, especially those carrying tall flags from tractor trolleys, are advised to stay alert and avoid contact with overhead power lines.
