MSRTC Revenue Surges by Rs 2 Crore

The Pune division earned around Rs 10 crore in 10 days of Diwali. About 1.4 million passengers were transported.

Pune: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has provided a lot of convenience to the passengers as it has transported additional buses during Diwali.

The Pune division earned around Rs 10 crore in 10 days of Diwali. About 1.4 million passengers were transported.

Around 25,000 trips of ST were made through 800 trains of Pune division. According to the ST administration, there has been an increase of Rs 1.5-2 crore in revenue this year as compared to last year.

A large number of passengers travelled from the bus stand set up at Khadki, including Swargate and Wakdewadi in Pune division.

The number of passengers going to Vidarbha and Marathwada, including western Maharashtra, was high. In particular, the number of passengers going to Solapur, Kolhapur, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Latur, Ahilyanagar etc. was high.

Therefore, the ST administration focused on increasing the frequency. This year, there were 25,000 trips of ST trains in Pune division alone. Most passenger traffic took place on November 3, 2019. On this day, 1.55 lakh passengers travelled by ST from Pune.

Pramod Nehul, Divisional Controller, ST Department, Pune said, "Passenger revenue also increased this year as passenger traffic was higher than last year. Special efforts were made to ensure timely availability of trains to passengers. The movement of extra buses greatly facilitated the passengers."
