Pune: In a tragic turn of events, a 27-year-old man from Mulshi passed away from a heart attack while chasing a thief who had broken into a house.

The incident took place late Tuesday (October 8) night in Vitthalwadi Phata, Paud, in Mulshi Taluka.

Rajendra Omble, a local resident, was asleep at his home when he was awakened by the sound of someone entering through the back door. Sensing an intrusion, he quickly alerted his neighbors.

The group of locals gathered and confronted the intruders. While three of the thieves managed to escape in one direction, one of them, identified as Sharad Kale, ran in the opposite direction and was pursued by the residents. After a brief chase, the group caught Kale and beat him before handing him over to the police.

One of the pursuers, Akshay Ankush Omble, aged 27, collapsed after the chase due to exhaustion. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Pune. Unfortunately, Omble had suffered a heart attack and passed away before receiving medical treatment.

The sudden death of the young man has left the local community in shock and grief, with many expressing deep sorrow over the loss. The police have taken the thief into custody and are conducting further investigations.

It may be noted that according to medical experts, Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) is caused by an abrupt electrical malfunction in the heart, leading to either a complete stop or dangerously erratic rhythms that disrupt blood flow to the body.
