Nagaland Student Robbery Case: Two Arrested, Two Minors Detained by Police

Pune: Chatuhshringi Police have arrested two 18-year-olds and detained two minors for robbing a student from Nagaland at knifepoint while he was cycling and trekking at Baner Hill.

The accused were apprehended after police received a tip-off, leading to the recovery of stolen goods worth ₹1,21,200, including a motorcycle and the sickle used in the crime.

The incident occurred on the evening of September 28, when the victim, Pijendai Kamei, a 19-year-old student at Spicer College, was cycling with a friend near Sus-Pashan Road.

The attackers, wielding a sickle, threatened and assaulted the duo, stealing two mobile phones and personal belongings valued at ₹20,000.

Acting on confidential information, Chatuhshrungi Police launched a search operation and apprehended the culprits, identified as Anjikya Ashok Bobde and Nikhil Babasaheb Dongre, both 18 years old, along with two juvenile accomplices. The police also recovered the stolen mobile phones, the motorcycle used during the robbery, and the sickle, valued at ₹1,21,200.

Senior police officers, including Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav, supervised the operation.

The successful arrest and recovery were executed by a team led by Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi and included Assistant Police Inspector Narendra Patil, along with officers Sudhakar Mane, Irfan Momin, Babasaheb Dangde, and others.
