COVID-19 effect: All students of classes 9, 10, 11 declared pass in this state

Students of classes 9, 10 and 11 will be declared pass without writing annual exams for the academic year 2020-2021

Chennai: In a big relief to students of classes 9, 10 and 11, Tamil Nadu government decided to pass all without submitting their annual board exams for academic year 2020-21.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami on Thursday announced that students will be declared pass directly without writing exams for the academic year. Announcing this in the Assembly, Palaniswami stated considering the outbreak of Covid-19 and going by the views of the experts in education sector and appeals of the parents, students of 9, 10 and 11 classes will be announced as all pass without them submitting the annual school or board exams.

He also stated the government will declare the detailed rules for calculating the marks for the students for the academic year 2020-21. Palaniswami said the schools were shut amid coronavirus pandemic and the students learnt through the Kalvi TV channel and online. Meanwhile, their syllabus was also reduced.
