Navratri: Traffic Diversion on Senapati Bapat Road Announced

Salil Urunkar

Pune Traffic Police have announced special traffic regulations to manage the crowds during Navratri festivities and avoid congestion on major routes like Senapati Bapat Road and Ganeshkhind Road of Pune city.

Due to the large number of devotees visiting the Chatuhshrungi Devi temple for darshan, traffic on Senapati Bapat Road will be diverted as per requirement.

Vehicles coming from Patrakar Nagar Chowk towards the Senapati Bapat Road junction will be diverted through Shivaji Housing Chowk, allowing one-way traffic only on the left side of Senapati Bapat Road.

If the traffic increases further, vehicles heading towards the temple will not be allowed to proceed directly. Instead, they will be diverted at Vetalbaba Chowk, rerouted through Deep Bungalow Chowk, or redirected from Shivaji Housing Chowk via Om Supermarket by taking a right turn.

Additionally, devotees arriving from Cosmos Bank junction on Ganeshkhind road and heading towards Senapati Bapat Road are advised to park their vehicles at the Polytechnic Ground.

To access the parking lot, they should turn left at Shivaji Housing Chowk, pass through Late Sawant Chowk, and follow Firodia Path to reach the designated parking area.

For those arriving from Veer Chaphekar Chowk for Chatuhshrungi Devi darshan, vehicles should proceed via Suryamukhi Datt Temple Chowk.

From there, they must take a left turn at Thorat Chowk and continue towards Deep Bungalow Chowk. An alternate route on Ganeshkhind Road is also available, where vehicles can take Sanganna Dhotre Path and pass through Khau Galli to reach the Polytechnic parking gate.
