Pune: As Maharashtra gears up for state assembly elections scheduled in November, political tensions have reached a peak, with candidates officially filing their nominations.

This election will witness multiple contests within the Pawar family, particularly the much-watched battle between Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Ajit Pawar and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) candidate Yugendra Pawar in the Baramati constituency.

In the ongoing campaign, Uttam Jankar, a prominent leader from NCP (SP) faction and candidate from Malshiras, has made a bold prediction that Ajit Pawar will face a decisive defeat in Baramati by a margin of 75,000 votes.

Jankar, who filed his nomination in the presence of MP Supriya Sule, shared his views on the unfolding electoral dynamics. He emphasized that Sharad Pawar has withdrawn his support from Ajit Pawar, implying a significant shift in the Pawar family’s political alliances.

Jankar further commented on the Malshiras constituency, noting the newly formed alliance between him and former adversary Mohite Patil.

He claimed this collaboration would lead to a strong showing for NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar), to the extent of seizing the BJP candidate's deposit in the election. This alliance, he believes, has revitalized the influence of NCP (SP) faction in the Solapur region.

The Baramati seat, historically a stronghold of the Pawar family, now stands as a battleground between the two factions of the NCP, with NCP (SP) faction represented by Yugendra Pawar against Ajit Pawar, who is supported by the Mahayuti.

The election outcome in Baramati is highly anticipated, with political observers closely monitoring whether this family divide will influence the voters.
