Pune: Residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad now have a much quicker route to Pune's Lohegaon Airport, thanks to the newly constructed roads in the Charholi area.

Previously, travelers had to take a detour of about 20-22 kilometers via Dighi-Vishrantwadi, which took more than an hour due to traffic congestion. Now, with the new roads, the distance from Charholi to the airport is only six to seven kilometers, reducing the travel time to just a few minutes.

Improved Road Connectivity Boosts Residential Interest in Charholi

The improved road infrastructure is making Charholi a preferred location for residents looking to move closer to Pune’s airport.

The boundaries of Charholi and Lohegaon villages are adjacent, and the completed sections of the Charholigaon to Lohegaon road allow traffic to flow more smoothly.

Presently, vehicles can traverse through the Pride City and Ajinkya D.Y. Patil University areas, enhancing connectivity between Pimpri-Chinchwad and the airport.

Additional connectivity improvements include a completed road section from the Indrayani River at Charholi Khurd (Khed Taluka) to Dabhade Vasti at Charholi Budruk (Haveli Taluka), as well as the Patharenagar to Dhanori route.

Key Infrastructure Developments: 90% of the 90-Meter-Wide Road Completed

A 90-meter wide road that connects the Pune-Nagar and Pune-Nashik highways runs through the Lohegaon area, and only a few meters of construction remain.

Municipal authorities confirm that 90% of this road is complete. This development has significantly connected several localities and expanded access to key areas.

New Routes Connecting Multiple Regions

The construction of new roads in the Charholi and Lohegaon areas has linked large parts of Pimpri-Chinchwad city, including key areas such as Talawade IT Park, Dehu Road Cantonment Board, Dehu and Alandi pilgrimage sites, Bhosari, Mhalunge, Chakan, Markal, Talegaon Dabhade MIDC, the eastern part of Maval Taluka, and the entire Rajgurunagar (Khed) Taluka.

Several Routes Available for Charholi Access

Currently, several routes provide access to Charholi from different parts of Pimpri-Chinchwad. These include routes from Bhosari Magazine Corner via Tajane Mala, Spine Road via Warehouse Corporation, Vadmukhwadi, Charholi Phata, and Moshi, Dudulgaon, Charholi Phata.

Other routes include the Dehu-Alandi Road, Alandi-Chakan Road, Alandi-Shel Pimpalgaon Road, and Alandi-Tulapur-Nagar Road.
