Nirbhay Bano Movement Backs MVA, Urges Key Issues in Election Manifesto

Pune: The “Nirbhay Bano” movement, known for its opposition to the Bhartiya Janata Party and its alliance (Mahayuti), has officially declared its support for the Maha Vikas Aghadi ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

The movement has urged leaders from the three political parties within the Maha Vikas Aghadi to incorporate the key issues raised by “Nirbhay Bano” in their forthcoming election manifesto.

The “Nirbhay Bano” movement claims to safeguard democracy and uphold the Indian Constitution. Social activist Vishwambhar Chaudhari spearheaded this initiative, which has successfully conducted 75 public meetings across various regions of Maharashtra during 2023-24.

Leaders from the Maha Vikas Aghadi have recognized that this movement played a crucial role in significantly reducing the number of seats held by the BJP and its allies in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

Utpal V. B., coordinator of “Nirbhay Bano,” expressed that the movement will continue to support all parties committed to democracy and constitutional values.

As part of its agenda for the upcoming assembly elections, “Nirbhay Bano” intends to raise critical issues affecting citizens, including access to water, education, health care, agriculture, employment, and the welfare of women and children.

In this context, Utpal has sent a letter to Jayant Patil, the state president of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar), requesting the integration of several key issues into the Maha Vikas Aghadi's election manifesto.

Utpal also confirmed that similar communications were made to Nana Patole, the state president of the Indian National Congress (INC) party, and Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray).

The letter emphasizes the necessity for thorough discussions with the leadership of the Maha Vikas Aghadi to ascertain which specific issues should be included in the manifesto.

It also calls for proactive measures to convene meetings with senior representatives from all three parties to establish a clear and effective strategy moving forward
