Pune, The 100th anniversary celebrations of the 'Nirmalwari' campaign, which was launched in Pandharpur wari, will be held at Abasaheb Garware College on Karve Road at 3 pm on Sunday (March 10).
Special tributes will be given to those who have made outstanding contributions to the Nirmal Wari campaign.
Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj, treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, will be the chief guest at the function.
Kiran Dhamdhere, head of Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg, Shivajirao More, Atul Nagaras and Vishal Vedpathak, the 10th descendant of Sant Tukaram, were present at the press conference organized by Seva Sahyog Foundation and Nirmal Wari Abhiyan.
He promised to plant 9,000 trees at a distance of 23 km from Mangalwedha taluka to Pandharpur and complete the 'Green Wari' scheme by the next wari.
