Pune: Former IAS Dilip Khedkar, the father of controversial IAS trainee Puja Khedkar, is under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) following a probe by the Income Tax Department.

Despite being a Class One officer with an income in crores, Khedkar obtained a non-creamy layer certificate for his daughter Puja, allowing her to gain admission under the OBC quota. This has raised significant questions and prompted the investigation.

Dilip Khedkar, who served as an officer in the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, declared assets worth 40 crores in his affidavit during the Lok Sabha elections.

Dilip Khedkar owns 14 gunthas of land in plot number 8, Waghalwadi, Someshwarnagar, of Baramati taluka. This land was reportedly purchased approximately 14 years ago.

The investigation will scrutinize this declaration to understand how the non-creamy layer certificate was issued.

Dilip Khedkar is also under scrutiny for using a 'Government of India' board on a private vehicle belonging to Thermoverita Engineering Pvt Ltd. RTI Activist and AAP leader Vijay Kumbhar had made these allegations in his tweet on social media platform X.

Additionally, Puja Khedkar's complaint against Pune District Collector Suhas Divase for mental harassment, initially filed with the Washim police, has now been transferred to Pune police for further investigation.

In a related development, Puja Khedkar's mother voluntarily removed unauthorized construction on the footpath adjacent to their row house in Baner after receiving a notice from the Pune Municipal Corporation. The structure was three feet wide, two feet high, and sixty feet long.

Further controversy arose when it was discovered that Puja Khedkar provided the address of a closed industrial company in Talwade to obtain a disability certificate from the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital.
